Educational and Career Opportunities

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference offers numerous hockey opportunities in an educational environment.

For the student athlete, the member institutions feature a wide variety of learning curriculums geared toward the Canadian economy and career environment ranging from one year certificate to four year degree programs. Student athletes who meet eligibility requirements may receive scholarships.

With the emphasis on education, the hockey program is planned to supplement the curriculum. During the regular season, the vast majority of games are scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights. During the holiday season, member teams may participate in internationally renowned tournaments or may embark on an overseas exhibition tour.

Following graduation, participants have the option of pursuing a career in their field of study or continuing their hockey career. A number of graduates have pursued their hockey aspirations in Europe and North America as players and coaches while others have found success in their field of study.
