The Yellowknife, Northwest Territories native played with focus and determination in posting a pair of wins as the SAIT Trojans advanced to the championship finals by taking their best of five series against the NAIT Ooks in four games.

On Thursday, March 3rd at Calgary, the SAIT Campus Centre in Calgary, the rookie netminder stopped 21 shots to record the shutout in a 5-0 win. On Friday, March 4th, Gard turned away 27 shots in a 6-3 series clinching victory.
