Golden Bear Assistant to Coach Ooks

Serge Lajoie, who spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach with the U of A Golden Bears, is the new head coach of the NAIT Ooks.

 

The 42 year old, also played for the Golden Bears for five seasons under Clare Drake and Billy Moores.  In 1992-93, his final season with the U of A, he was honored with the Red Dutton Trophy, as the most outstanding defenceman in the Canada West, and the Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy as the outstanding player in the CIAU.

Lajoie, who played junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers (WHL) and the St. Albert Saints (AJHL), concluded his playing career with Germany's EC Bad Nauheim in 1998.
