Briercrest Coach Steps Down After Four Seasons

Calvin Watson, who has coached the Clippers for the past four seaons will not return for the 2010/11 campaign.  The former member of the UNB Varsity Red joined Briercrest as an assistant coach for the 2004/05 season.  Two seasons later, the Saskatchewan native took the reins of the Caronport based team.

The 2007-08 ACAC Coach of the Year guided the Clippers to two post season appearances.  During his tenure, Watson compiled a record of 23 wins, 67 losses, and 14 ties in the regular season and a mark of two wins and four losses in the playoffs.

Not only are the Clippers losing a coach, but a trainer, Emily Watson, as well.  The husband and wife duo, who created a family atmosphere for the team, will concentrate on their farming operation and raising their two children.
