In 2007, the men's and women's NAIT Ooks hockey teams along with the Ooks Hockey Alumni Association joined forces to establish Stick It to Cancer, an annual event which raises funds for the Kids With Cancer Society.
This year, a number of local businesses (including PCL and National Bank Financial) will be sponsoring the six co-ed teams which take the ice in a 4 on 4 round-robin tournament on Saturday, December 12th from 9:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. at the NAIT Arena. |

Individual players from the Ooks will also be collecting pledges for the cause. The goal this year is $15,000.
The teams will be selected on December 8th when a draft will take place in the Shaw Theatre on the NAIT Campus at 7:00 p.m. NAIT president Sam Shaw, who is also the event's honorary commissioner, will emcee for the evening. |
